Before I go, though, I have some fun little bakers twine gift wrap ideas for you. The materials I’m working with here all come from a fabulous gift wrap kit collaboration between Gap and Darby Smart. The kit has beautiful and simple items to work with. Better than that, they have provided a huge gallery of fabulous gift wrapping ideas online here so you can try all kinds of fun ways to wrap your gifts.

I love this simple crochet chain to illustrate a simple word, “merry.” If you don’t have a crochet hook, simply braid the twine to get the same effect! Full directions below.

Washi Tape Word Gift Wrap

:: Apply lengths of glitter washi tape to a piece of the kraft paper about the size of the tag included in the kit.
:: Use the “joy” tag as a template for your letters. Secure the tag on top of washi tape paper with tape. Cut the letters out with a sharp scissors.
:: Fold the O in half to cut the center out.
:: Trim the letters and attach to the package with double stick tape. Tie twine around the package too!

Gift Wrap DIY-3592

:: Crochet this star out of the bakers twine using a size US1 2.35mm hook, following this crochet star tutorial. Slip stitch a length of twine through star ends and tie around package corner. Or, try crocheting a bunch of them and wrap them around the package.
