Knit Fingerless Mitts for You and Your Bestie

Striped Fingerless Mitt Kit and Pattern
I love fingerless mitts for early fall or spring mornings. They keep your hands warm while still allowing you to hold your coffee, a dog leash, or a market bag. This project knits up in just a few hours and makes a heartfelt gift for someone special in your life!

Story time . . .

Katherine is my mother’s name, and like her, my stripey Katherine Knit Mitts are warm, fun, and a little kicky! One of my favorite things to do with my mom is walk and talk, coffee in hand. And when I originally designed these, I hadn’t seen her in over a year. So I made a pair for her, and a pair for me. It was my way of sending a little bit of me to her, to pretend we’re walking hand in hand.

In honor of those special little moments with the ones we love, I’ve put together this knit mitts kit with two skeins of yarn so you can make two matching pairs! Won’t you make a pair for someone you love?

Striped Fingerless Mitt Kit and Pattern
The mitts are knit flat and seamed up the sides (though you can adapt the pattern to be knit in the round if desired). The pattern includes lots of pictures along the way, so even if you’re tentative, dive in! The gauge is 22 stitches and 30 rows to 4" in striped stockinette on size 7 (4.5mm) needles.
The mitts are made with beautiful, rustic Acadia from The Fibre Co. – it is a gorgeous blend of wool, alpaca, and silk, making them soft and lovely. I’ve also added new color combination options to the kit so there are so many options to choose from!
