2015 Flurry and Flax and Twine Events

2015-01-21 19.10.41-2

What a flurry 2015 has been so far! I received my first book dummy, that’s the first graphic layout of my book, right after Christmas. It was so exciting. Seeing all my hard work in page layouts is making it all feel that much more real. Two weeks chock full of checking and double checking, cutting and pasting, cutting text, finding missing pieces and whew! Right into this week.

This week, I’m speaking at Alt In Salt Lake City (above). This has been one of those goals on my hypothetical vision board since I first heard about the conference. I’ll be part of a panel about The Book Deal. I feel I can authentically speak to how it feels to be right in the thick of it. I’m so excited to be speaking with lovely other authors, Merrilee Liddiard, who wrote the stunning kids craft book Playful, Meg Keene who wrote the helpful book A Practical Wedding and Judy Pray, executive editor at Artisan Books.

I have to say that I’m enthusiastic about 2015. The calendar is already filling up with great Flax and Twine events that I think you guys will get excited about. My book feels mostly under my belt and I’m so thrilled to actually introduce all my projects and the expanded gorgeous world of Finger and Arm Knitting to the world. Here’s the schedule so far this year and I’m sure I’ll be adding more to it soon!

January 26 Creativebug class, How to Arm Knit a Blanket
February 20 Live arm and finger knitting demonstration at American Craft Council Show in Baltimore
June 4-6 Introduction to Arm Knitting at Squam Art Workshops
July Teaching in Colorado, location TBD
August Book launch, location TBD!
Sept 16-20 Fabulous Floor Pouf at Squam Art Workshops
October Arm Knitting workshops at Create Explore Discover in Truckee, CA
Monthly I’m back on Martha Stewart’s 12 Months of Martha blogging team for this year.

I’m also hoping to get back to more traditional knitting and crocheting around here so keep an eye out for beautiful new patterns. In addition, this is the year I attack 5 Club Rd. I’ve put off renovations for over two years now and it’s finally time to accomplish what I bought this house for. So you can expect some house posts here and there.

One last thing. I’ve gone sugar free and have managed to drop 10 lbs over the holidays. Yay!! I’m working out regularly and am feeling great. I added a couple other wonderful things to my self care routine. If I can stick with them a while, and if I see positive results, I’ll be sure to share!!

Okay – maybe I’m already overcommitted for 2015. In any case, its going to be a fun ride! Hope you’re here with me!
