I love the white ribbon against the navy. This just ties in the back. You can change the length how you want.I did the tutorial in red - but you'll see, it doesn't have the same oompf.
Materials:
28" of 1/8" ribbon
100% wool felt
1 rhinestone
Thread
Needle
Scissors
Glue
Time: 10 minutes
Cut a small heart out of the felt. I do this by going elementary school: Fold the felt in half and cut out half the heart so that your heart is symmetrical.
Fold your ribbon in half, such that it forms a "v."
Sew the "v" of the ribbon to the felt heart - careful not to bring your thread through to the front.
Sew the fold in the ribbon to the heart, have the ends come out symmetrically from the top of the heart.
Finish off the thread.
Finis.
I definitely like the blue better than the red, you?Tomorrow brings a radiant headband – sweet, pink and glimmery.

Anne, this glittering heart darling is so cute and joyful! I admire your skill to find sparkle in small details - very inspiring! :-)
ReplyDeleteI just love this, but I have a question. Both my daughter and I are *sensitive* to wool. Would this still work with eco-felt, do you think? I really love all these wonderful pieces you're making for your little girl! :)
ReplyDeleteI think eco-felt would work well. Try it! I haven't worked with it a lot so I don't know how it holds up to lots of rubbing. I'm so glad you are enjoying the series! I'm loving it too.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, as an update, I would sew the rhinestone to the heart instead of gluing it. My daughter's rhinestone popped off. I will add that to the tutorial when I get a chance. I think if you have a super thin needle you can get it underneath the stone so you can attach it with thread. Much more stable!
ReplyDeleteI love these ideas! I hope these stay up for a while. My niece will be 4 this summer and next Christmas I plan on making her a "Dress Up Box". And these will be so great to put in them..
ReplyDeleteI started with Day One.. but since she lives across the country, measuring her wrist would be impossible so I am using one of the plastic toy dress up kits as measurements for the bangles.
Thank you so much for the great stuff. They really got my creative juices flowing
You'll always be able to access these ideas as long as I'm still blogging!~ I'm glad you will enjoy them. Enjoy the time with your niece!
ReplyDeletethis is so cute!!!! I'm so happy to found your blog.
